Martyn Halsall, KPMG
Martyn has over 20 years experience in IT and heads KPMG's IT Advisory business in Auckland. He has wide ranging systems experience which includes, inter alia, IT project and systems governance, large-scale systems delivery and information security. He has spent the past two years in Europe studying for a post graduate degree in Forensic Computing at Cranfield University and the Royal Military College of Science. His primary areas of research were related to E-Crime, corporate security and the forensic aspects of corporate networks and the internet.
Peter Benson
Peter Benson, founder of Security-Assessment.com is one of the region's leading IT security specialists. His expertise and experience in Information Security extends over 15 years across many sectors, in particular telecommunications. His strategic view of IT security and ability to pre-empt directions the industry is taking has made him an in-demand advisor - assisting organisations of all sizes effectively manage their corporate risks. Peter Gutmann
Peter Gutmann famously locked horns with Microsoft late last year over the digital rights management technology the company included in its Vista operating system. His critique of the technology made news around the world. But Gutmann's main area of research is computer malware. He says he "spends his time as a researcher at the University of Auckland, poking holes in security systems and mechanisms (purely for practice), and throwing rocks at PKIs."
Christian Seifert
Christian Seifert is an IT security researcher based at Victoria University of Wellington. He leads the New Zealand Honeynet project, an international venture that uses honeypots, or vulnerable servers, to attract, track and study current and emerging malicious attacks across the internet.
Chris Barton, Regional Manager – Australia, New Zealand, Oceania, SonicWALL
Chris Barton is responsible for SonicWALL’s operations in the ANZ region. He has been working in the information security business for nearly 10 years in various sales and business development capacities for several IT organisations. Before taking on the regional manager’s role he was channel manager for ANZ working closely with SonicWALL’s value added resellers and distributors. Prior to joining SonicWALL he was business development manager at Sophos with special emphasis on IT security and control solutions within the enterprise and government arenas.
Born in New Zealand he has a keen interest in trans-Tasman business.
Anu Nayar, Deloitte
Anu Nayar is Manager of the national Security & Privacy Services practice. Anu has over 10 years of specialised security experience in USA and NZ, and draws upon his security expertise and risk management based approach to work with his clients as a trusted advisor and security assessor. Anu specialises in a number of areas including Payment Card Industry security, Mobile & SCADA security, and operational security and incident response. Anu is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional.
Faris Azimullah, Deloitte
Ian’s co-presenter, Faris Azimullah, is also an ERS partner specialising in IS assurance. He is actively involved within the Auckland Chapter of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), and contributes to topical lectures and presentations to professional bodies and universities.
