First stage of extending and revitalising Microsoft's developer community in NZ
By Computerworld Staff | Auckland | Tuesday, 13 December, 2011
Microsoft Communities New Zealand (MSCNZ) has launched a new online community portal this week.
MSCNZ is an volunteer based organisation which promotes Mircrosoft technologies and skills. It is funded partly by Microsoft and partner organisations.
The website is the first step towards furthering MSCNZ’s offerings to the Microsoft developer community says Brendon Ford, president of MSCNZ and CTO of Provoke Solutions.
"Over the last 12 months user groups in New Zealand have held nearly 250 events and seen more than 3,800 attendees. These numbers are a great start, but as a new committee we have set ourselves some aggressive growth targets which will require us to be smart about our resources," says Ford.
MSCNZ will be holding developer events in the future, including its upcoming Code Camp in February 2012.
