Multi-year deal could be biggest for testing in NZ

In what could be the biggest local deal ever for application and network testing, Optimation has won Vodafone NZ’s business.

Neither party will comment but a figure of $30 million, over multiple years, is being bandied around the industry. Vodafone has been a long-standing application development customer of Optimation. Until now, testing has been done by several parties, including Vodafone’s major services provider, IBM.

The two parties are said to be in contract negotiations.

It’s unusual for an organisation to use just one testing provider, contributing to the scale of the deal.

Optimation CEO Rhoda Holmes restructured some of the company in February, consolidating back-office administration services and hiring additional sales staff. The company employs around 115 people currently.
