InternetNZ appoints chief executive

Vikram Kumar takes over from acting CEO Richard Currey

InternetNZ has appointed Vikram Kumar as its new chief executive officer.

Kumar will be responsible to the elected council for oversight of staff and managing the work of the offices of the Policy Unit and the Shared Services Unit.

Kumar was previously with the State Services Commission, since November 2004 in the roles of manager strategy and innovation; programme manager future services; and principal advisor ICT.
Before that he was business technology manager – projects at Telecom from 2001.

Kumar takes over from acting CEO Richard Currey, who has been in the role since April 2009.
