Retiring president and founder says he will remain active in community
  • Share

A director of development company Catalyst, Don Christie, has been elected as president of the New Zealand Open Source Society.

Retiring president and society founder Peter Harrison intends to remain active within the society. He held the post for the last 5 years.

Christie says the society will continue to speak out on patent and copyright issues which threaten to stifle the innovation and collaboration open technologies offer.

The society is helping to bring together some of the open source work already being done here by backing this year’s New Zealand Open Source Awards.
