New Zealand IBM specialist Certus Solutions has acquired Australian firm Eos Solutions.

The resulting organisation, which will retain the Certus Solutions name, will be the largest specialist IBM software service and support company in the region, according to a Certus statement announcing the acquisition.

The merged company will have more than 100 staff in Auckland, Wellington, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, and will have a 400-strong customer base.

In the announcement statement, Certus CEO Brian Allen says “As a result of the acquisition, Eos’ customers will have greater access to development, support and integration services across the whole IBM software product product range.

“For Certus, the Eos customer base will provide a strong growth platform from which to address a much wider market”, Allen says.

The existing Eos management team and personnel will stay with the new organisation and Eos managing director Annette Henry will take over the role of managing director for the new Australian organisation.

Certus provides services across all five key IBM software brands – WebSphere, Information Management, Lotus, Tivoli and Rational – and its customers include Fonterra, Westpac, Air New Zealand and Vodafone.

Eos is also certified across all five IBM software brands. Certus has approximately 60 staff and Eos 35.
