Sales of the iPhone 4 and 4S have been so astronomical it will be a long time before Samsung can catch up

All those reports claiming sales of the iPhone are slowing down could be wrong if a analyst's chart comparing sales of iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 to sales of the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note is correct.
According to Raymond James analyst Travis McCourt Apple's iPhone has outsold Samsung's smartphones by 219 million to 131 million over the past two and a half years.
The chart shows the iPhone 4S in first place, followed by the iPhone 4 miles ahead of the iPhone 5, SII and SIII, which appear to have converged.
The sales of the iPhone 4 and 4S have been so astronomical it will be a long time before Samsung can catch up, appears to be the message.
McCourt believes that Apple has extended its lead over Samsung in the last 12 months, writes BGR.
Earlier this week Samsung announced that it has shipped more than 100 million Galaxy S phones since May 2010, when the smartphone was released.

writer has missed the point
That's not the point.
The point is iphone has slowed down recently while SS is gaining so much momentum, and has beaten apple in smartphone numbers this year. And the numbers are representing the GALAXY S series, if considering all smartphone production lines samsung hsa already been doubling apples numbers.

who do you believe?
Every month new numbers come out, first of all saying that Samsung has sold more than Apple and then vice versa. The surveys always seem to come with a caveat as Samsung doesnt release its numbers, so at best these numbers are guesses from analysts and show be treated with a grain of salt.
