IT Manager of the Year and BA of the Year announced at Computerworld IT Conference and Expo last night
By Computerworld staff | Auckland | Wednesday, 24 November, 2010 | 4 Comments
A highlight of yesterday’s Computerworld ITEX Conference and Expo at Auckland’s SkyCity Convention Centre was the announcement of the winners of the Computerworld Excellence in IT Awards.
Shamendra Hurbuns, formerly of the North Shore City Council (now part of the new Auckland Council) won the Business Analyst of the Year Award, sponsored by Redvespa, and Ingrid Cronin-Knight, head of business delivery – service capability at Gen-i, won the IT Manager of the Year Award, sponsored by Potentia.
The judges’ comments for Shamendra Hurbuns noted: “Shamendra’s approach to his BA role demonstrates a strong collaborative approach, a need to engage with people and take time to build a rapport and understand their needs and wants, so he can work with them to deliver successful outcomes.”
For Ingrid Cronin-Knight, the judges noted: “Ingrid is a driven, results-oriented manager and a leader with an engaging style that exudes genuine warmth.
“Ingird brings the same qualities and attributes that have seen her in leadership roles in the international sporting arena (she has represented New Zealand at cricket) to her chosen career.
“She has a clear understanding of how IT can align with business goals and is able to articulate this when running huge projects.”
The other finalists in the Business Analyst of the Year Award were Fiona McIvor, of Vero, and Kerry Willis, of Vodafone.
Ingrid Cronin-Knight’s co-finalists for the IT Manager of the Year Award were Ken Biswell of Redvespa, Richard Lockwood of ASB Bank and Colin Philp of Gen-i.
