Trevor Hayle’s appointment follows resignation of Greg Bickerton last year

Techtonics has appointed Trevor Hayles acting CEO, with Ross Bidmead moving into the chairman’s role, replacing John Fletcher.

Bidmead, the majority shareholder, had been acting CEO since the resignation of Greg Bickerton in December.

“It was always my intention to take over as chairman,” Bidmead says. “John [Fletcher] will remain on the board.”

He says the company won a major project to install Open Text CS10 for a new Auckland-based client in December, and in January won a significant document management project based around SharePoint. Bidmead wouldn’t name the new clients. “Government customers are reluctant to talk,” he says.

Techtonics expects to grow the number of consulting staff by 40 percent during the year, Bidmead says. “Most of these are for already defined projects that will commence in the first half of the year.

“Over the next few weeks, Techtonics will define its new leadership structure to ensure the company is well positioned to deliver the expanding services.”

I Care... Techtonics are a very successful Wellington based IT business. I care and I like to know how they are doing. The whole point of having a local IT news site is to be able to cover local IT news as well as the stuff we can get everywhere else.

I know and admire former CEO Greg Bickerton and I wish Trevor Hayles all the best.
