Regional vice president for sales commutes from Australia to run NZ office
By Randal Jackson | Wellington | Friday, 7 September, 2012
Unisys denies its New Zealand subsidiary is being run from Australia despite the executive in charge being based across the Tasman.
Unisys New Zealand has appointed Steve Griffin, who is Wellington-based, as global managed services sales director. But Sydney-based Phil Heggie continues to lead Unisys’ business in New Zealand. He is vice president for sales and business development for global managed services, Asia Pacific.
Heggie is filling in for former managing director Brett Hodgson, who resigned earlier this year to go into private business.
Though Heggie commutes from Australia, Unisys told Computerworld that its New Zealand subsidiary is not being run from Australia. However there is no indication when a replacement for Hodgson will be announced.
Prior to joining Unisys NZ, Griffin was previously New Zealand sales director for Hewlett-Packard. He joined HP as a result of its acquisition of EDS in 2008.
