Maxnet rebrands to Vocus Communications
Rebranding follows sale to Australian telco earlier this year

Maxnet will be known as Vocus Communications as of August 27, taking the same name as its Australian owner which purchased the local datacentre provider and ISP for $9.5 million in May.
At the time Vocus estimated Maxnet's operations would bring in $2 million EBITDA in the 2013 financial year.
According to a statement from the company, Maxnet's two datacentres will be rebranded as Vocus but the retail ISP business will continue to operate under the Maxnet brand.
Vocus was founded in 2008 by current CEO James Spenceley. The company reported revenues of A$114.9 million for the 2011 financial year.
"We are excited to be brining together all our datacentre, international connectivity and cloud services into the Vocus brand," says Spenceley.
"This will make it easier for customers on both sides of the Tasman to access services in different countries."
Spenceley says a number of Australian companies have already started to use the New Zealand datacentres and Jade Software is a New Zealand company which recently switched to Vocus. A spokesperson for Vocus says the launch of a cloud document management service from Konica Minolta that will be hosted on Vocus servers is "imminent".
